Kahn, Sugar, and Money Oh My! The first Vlog is here.

It is my pleasure to release my first Vlog here on The Final Bell.  This was a blast to put together, and I hope all you boxing fans really enjoy watching it, as much as I did making it.  In this first episode we talked about events going on in the boxing world, and I shared some personal views on particular fights and fighters.  If you enjoyed the video and would like to see more in the video please comment below. PBC Boxing Continues To Go For The Knockout.

The month of August is up and running with some terrific boxing.  On Saturday, we saw yet another dominating performance by 147 pound Danny Garcia as he faced the soon to retire Paulie Malignaggi. The fight was decide in the ninth round due to a cut over the Magic Man’s eye. This was a bittersweet moment for me as a boxing fan, I have followed Malignaggi’s career, watching this young Sicilian from the Bronx for years. I’m sorry to see him go but his lifespan seems to be up, at least we will get to hear that classic voice as a commentator. As for Danny Garcia, this kid’s career is still heating up; this win pushes him to 31-0.  I agree with trainer and father Angel Garcia when he says, “Danny is ready for the top dogs at welterweight,” lets see if Al Haymon feels the same way.  Looking in my crystal ball, I see Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman in Garcia’s future.

Along with Saturday’s card, it was my pleasure to have all access for Bounce T.V. inaugural PBC broadcast. I was able through my program at Full Sail University to shadow the Warriors Boxing Promotions team. Being there during media day and fight night, I was able to get hands on with this awesome card. It was my pleasure to interview 25-1 Super Welterweight fighter Jorge Luis Cota Lugo.  He spoke of his deep training for his bout against the 31-year-old Cuban, Yudel Jhonson; this training was proven as Cota Lugo won by unanimous decision.

Throughout the night one of the most exciting fighters I was able to witness was John Jackson. Jackson the son of boxing legend Julian “Hawk” Jackson raised the same eyebrows his father had back in the day. He completely dominated the Pilipino southpaw Denis Laurente with an array of right straights it was truly a clinic. Lets just say “Mr. Humble,” got humbled. With his unanimous decision win, Jackson will go on to face Cota Lugo within the next 3 months. My advice to you is to tune into that war, it is going to be a great one.

 Speaking of wars, lets talk about the main event Payano andWarren. Juan Carlos Payano was set to defend his bantamweight belt against three times Olympic medalist Rau’see Warren. This fight exemplified everything a boxing fan should expect in a fight: nonstop action, quick punches, and controversy. In the early rounds Payano got pointed for punching behind.  This was a premature call if you ask me, but don’t worry a make up call would be made has Warren got 2 points taken on a “intentional foul” in round 9. Despite the questionable officiating by Frank Santore, this was an exciting fight. The entire arena was standing on their feet for most of the fight and that even goes for pros Adrian Broner and Leo Santa Cruz, who were in attendance. By the 12^th round this one was up for grabs, however the split decision was rewarded to Juan Carlos Payano, and he walked away with his WBA Bantamweight belt. This goes to show the more active fighter gets the split most of the time; Payano threw almost 300 more punches than Warren! Stay tuned, this one has rematch written all over it. This 12 round slugfest capped off what was yet another amazing PBC production.
